“It’s My Life”

Intellitrain congratulates Dr Angelo Vernados of Heritage Fiduciary Services, a member of our Advisory Panel, on his nomination for the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award 2005!

A “veteran” entrepreneur, Angelo has started and managed several successful companies including a dot-com start-up, in corporate and commercial banking, in property marketing and sales, and more recently, offshore cross-border structuring in Singapore. Angelo and the other nominees were quoted in the publication “It’s My Life” containing inspiring stories and thoughts from Singapore’s leading entrepreneurs. We hope aspiring entrepreneurs benefit from Angelo’s following published and unpublished words of wisdom, like we at Intellitrain have:

On being an inspiration
“To inspire others, you must first have a belief in yourself, a vision, and a strong desire to help others...”

On preparing for entrepreneurship
“Before starting out on your own, work for someone else, for the experience. This is the best way to learn... Never be afraid of failure. You pick yourself up and move forward. You learn from your mistakes.”

On running a business
“I believe in the tradition that a man must be his word. A handshake is a bond of a deal done. There are too many businesses these days that rely on the small print...”

On planning ahead
“We have to factor in growth – finding the right team and clients... In this business, personal development and credibility are very important. Once you’ve hit a milestone, think of how to get to the next milestone.”

On life
"It’s your life … enjoy it!"
(This being Angelo’s personal advice to me!)

    8 Nov 2005, 9am-6pm, Suntec City Guild House

    This course on the art of sales negotiation explodes the following money-losing myths, showing how price wars leave you the ultimate loser:

    1. “My customers only care about price”;
    2. “We can’t afford to lose this customer”;
    3. “If we’re open about our pricing, our customers will use that information against us”.

    Successful sales relies on more than just sales skills. Through this course, you will learn how to refocus your sales pitch and your customers’ expectations from price to value. In a Nutshell

    “Training is critical to most businesses, but it’s not the business most companies are in.”

    Most of us have heard of outsourcing or BPO (Business Process Outsourcing). No longer considered a mere trend but a core business strategy, the key driver of outsourcing is competition as companies strive to maximise their competitive advantage by focusing on their core competences/business. In particular, training outsourcing ... [read more]
